Post-Vacation Blog Dump
I have shuffled back from Buffalo.
Pictured, above, is a detail from the Kings Family Restaurant place mat extolling the virtues of their corporate mascot, "The Frownie Brownie!"
Take twelve of these pissed-off pastries and add twelve scoops of ice cream and you have "The Angry Mob Sundae!" No doubt they'll be attending various town hall meetings across the land this month to shout down representatives.
We encountered Frownie in Grove City, PA.
Yes, Aunt Denise bought Mariel the stuffed Frownie doll for $5.99.
Yes, there were snapshots of someone dressed up as the Frownie mascot visiting the restaurant.
More to come...

just stay away from the screaming chili diaper
Are you considering moving back to the frigid north? :)
S.A.W. - I'd do it in a heart-beat if I could have a decent, well-paying job.
That "The Angry Mob Sundae" looks like enough calories for a year!
Then my hope for you is that a good job there comes your way. (This is a sign of my good will toward you, since I am saying that overlooking my resentment toward Bufflao right now - the city that produced the guy who just betrayed me!)
Geez! I go away for ten days and all H-E-double-hockey-sticks breaks loose in secret agent land!
I'm glad to hear that you're "enjoying" yourself. My on-line class is getting tougher, so it's not so easy to play hookey anymore, but I'll visit your blog when I can.
By the way, you didn't say if you ate any of those things.
KL: I didn't indugle in any of the FROWNIE BROWNIE delicacies, but I had some of my Buffalo favorites during the trip:
*Beef-On-Weck
*Might Taco
*Sahlen's Hot Dogs
*Loganberry
*Chiavetta's Chicken
to name a few.
I bought some cheap LPs while I was there and that might be my next blog entry...
Is "Beef-On-Weck" a typo or a type of food? (I'm familiar with Upstate NY edibles like those tiny salt potatoes, but I don't know the one's you mentioned.)
It's a Roast Beef sandwich on a special "kummelweck" roll. Basically, it's a kaiser roll with kosher salt & carroway seeds embedded in it. It is a very tasty sandwich.
Technology really has become one with our daily lives, and I am fairly confident when I say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as memory gets less expensive, the possibility of uploading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about every once in a while.

I really like when people are expressing their opinion and thought. So I like the way you are writing
