What The..?

Goodness Gracious, People! Is this the kind of dough you folks shell out every month for high speed internet access?!?!?!?

This is the pricing structure for hughesnet. Probably because you'd have to be Howard Hughes to afford it!

Three Hundred bucks (after a $100 mail-in rebate) for equipment and standard installation with "only" $60 a month thereafter?

Again I say, "No dig!"

No. My family has Comcast, and for the basic high-speed we pay about $42 a month. And, we definitely didn't pay $300 for equipment and installation.

I have Verizon. I signed up for the $19.99 for life program which gives me a "free" modem and all the software needed to install. It also frees up my regular phone line so I can keep getting calls while on internet.

My regular phone bill is unlimited usage and long distance for $36.00 a month. Add the $20 for internet usage and total is $56 plus tax per month for home phone, fax, and internet.

We are moving soon to another part of Pennsylvania and I just know this set up will not go with me! I am researching my new area to see what's what and how much I am going to shell out.

But the costs you cite are unbelieveable and not do able at my house!
